at the University of Utah

The University of Utah is dedicated to fostering a campus environment where all individuals—regardless of ability—can fully engage in the academic, professional, and cultural life of the institution.

We actively uphold the standards set by state and federal disability laws, prioritizing the removal of systemic barriers and the provision of reasonable accommodations to ensure equitable access to every University program.

Central to our mission of delivering a world-class education is the integrity of our digital landscape. We are committed to ensuring that our online resources and digital content are universally accessible, empowering every member of our community to benefit from the University’s vast digital ecosystem.

Through collaborative efforts across campus, we are building a more inclusive and equitable digital future.

The 2026 Digital Accessibility Initiative

In alignment with updated Title II regulations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the University of Utah is actively working to ensure all digital content—including websites, Canvas courses, videos, documents, and mobile apps—meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards by April 24, 2026. This is a campus-wide effort requiring participation from all departments.
